Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)

LIEAP is a federally funded program designed to help low income households pay heating bills. This program does not require the recipient to have a past due bill and helps with all types of heating sources, including wood heat. Checks are issued directly to the vendor providing the heat source. This assistance may be accessed once per year per household.

Other Emergency Funding

We occasionally have money to help pay electric or gas bills in an emergency situation.

Rental Assistance

We rarely have funding to help with rental assistance in Douglas County and the need is growing. If you can help, please donate to UCAN and specify that your funds are to help with rental assistance. Although our Donate link does not allow you to specify the use of your donation, a follow up email will ensure your donation is used according to your wishes.
