Health
Head Start believes that a child's ability to learn is increased by a healthy body. Head Start connects parents to the Oregon Health Plan to establish continuous medical and dental care with providers.
It is Head Start's expectation that children are up-to-date on Annual Well Child Exams, immunizations, and Dental Exams prior to enrollment.
Parents and children are provided information on health and nutrition
Social Services
Head Start provides families with information about services and opportunities in the community. Family Service staff encourage and support parents in accepting the challenge of personal growth and development. The primary goals of family service staff and home visitors are:
- Parent education
- Parent information
- Parent support
- Parent motivation
- Parent involvement
Parents play an important role in our program. Head Start is one of the few programs that asks people receiving services to be involved in all areas of the program. Parents are involved in and must approve major changes, budgets, hiring and policies. Monthly parents meetings, various workshops and parent groups are offered to provide education and support for parents.
