child block letter awareness of and expression of feelings.

child block letter developing responsibility for and control over his/her behavior.

child block letter social skills and self-help skills through learning activities.

child block letter teaching through creative play.

child block letter activities that provide hands-on experiences with educational materials.

child block letter recognizing words and numbers.

child block letter tasty and nutritious meals and snacks.

Health

Head Start believes that a child's ability to learn is increased by a healthy body. Head Start connects parents to the Oregon Health Plan to establish continuous medical and dental care with providers.

It is Head Start's expectation that children are up-to-date on Annual Well Child Exams, immunizations, and Dental Exams prior to enrollment.

Parents and children are provided information on health and nutrition

Social Services

Parents play an important role in our program. Head Start is one of the few programs that asks people receiving services to be involved in all areas of the program. Parents are involved in and must approve major changes, budgets, hiring and policies. Monthly parents meetings, various workshops and parent groups are offered to provide education and support for parents.
