Benefits for members serving September 2010 - July 2011
- $11,800 living allowance (taxed), dispersed monthly over 11 months (September 2010 - July 2011). Members only receive stipend while serving.
- Upon completion of 1700 hours and 11 months of service members receive $5,350 education award for future tuition at a qualified institution or to pay off qualified student loans (also taxed).
- Basic health insurance - for the member only (family not covered).
- Child care allowance, if qualified (dependent on income qualification).
- May be eligible for Loan Forbearance (with qualified student loans).
- Interest Accrual Payment upon successful completion of program for interest accrued on loans in forbearance during service.
- Training opportunities, work experience and the satisfaction of providing needed service to Oregon's communities.
