UCAN CONFIDENCE CLINIC

(Programs for Men and Women)

The UCAN Confidence Clinic is a self-sufficiency program for men and women, 16 - 60+, offering ten-week Life and Career Planning sessions, which follows the Umpqua Community College schedule. The courses offer training in self-exploration of values and goal setting, and introduces various skills for solution-focused decision-making, parenting, teamwork, anger management, career exploration and job search skills. The teaching methods assist students in building self-esteem, assertiveness and communication skills. The skills learned in this program reduce dependency on unhealthy relationships, poor choices, public assistance, and increases self-reliance. GED preparation and basic computer classes are also offered to students who attend the Life and Career Planning Classes.

The Confidence Clinic follows the same schedule as UCC. Orientation occurs the week before classes begin and the courses are 10 weeks long. Participants are required to attend orientation and then attend a one-on-one interview with Clinic staff. Participants must attend orientation to be accepted. Orientation dates have not yet been determined for Winter session.

To sign up for a class:Call the Confidence Clinic anytime Monday through Thursday at (541) 672-5392 between 8:00am and 5:00pm. You will be put on a waiting list and once the orientation date has been established, you will receive a flyer in the mail. The flyer will contain the dates and times for orientation. It is not a requirement to be on the waiting list. Anyone can come to orientation. It is, however, a requirement that you attend orientation if you want to attend Confidence Clinic.
