UTrans

UCAN operates Douglas County's public transit system through a contract with the County. It is an integral part of Douglas County's Coordinated Public Transit Transportation Plan. Known as UTrans, our buses offer the only mass transit for residents of the County. All of our buses are ADA accessible with wheelchair lifts that allow those with wheelchairs to access our buses comfortably. The wheelchair lifts also help people with walkers/canes and people who have difficulty climbing stairs. Each bus is equipped with a bike rack that can carry between two to three, single seat bicycles. So anyone within biking distance of a bus stop can pedal on over and bring their bike for the ride.

UTrans offers two types of service. We offer regular service to residents of Winchester, Roseburg and Green (with connection to Winston) as often as once an hour. We offer commuter service several times daily along the I-5 corridor with stops in Canyonville, Riddle, Tri-City, Myrtle Creek, Dillard, Winston, Wilbur and Sutherlin. We have located many Roseburg area stops near major retail outlets, social service offices, government offices and large employers. Commuter stops are found in centrally located, easily accessed areas of outlying communities.

In addition to these "fixed" routes, we offer "door-to-door" service for individuals with a qualifying disability. This service is referred to as Para-Transit and is available for any purpose. The service meets and exceeds ADA requirements. We offer this service anywhere we operate our "fixed routes," during the same times we operate our regular bus service, at locations within 3/4th of a mile of a fixed route.

If you know someone who would like additional information on U-Trans, such as route maps, schedules, planning trips, current rates, public transit policies, and advertising on buses, please have them call (541) 440-6500 go to the UTrans website.

Medicaid Transportation

For people who are enrolled in the Oregon Health Plan, we work with partner agencies to offer rides to non-emergency doctor appointments. We offer this service in both Douglas and Josephine County.
