Weatherization Program
Umpqua Community Action Network provides cost-free weatherization services to income-qualified residents (homeowners AND renters) of Douglas County. The goal of the weatherization program is to provide services that help families lower their utility bills and stay warmer, safer and more comfortable. The Weatherization Program reduces energy costs for low-income households by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes, while ensuring their health and safety. Typically, low income households spend 14% of their annual income on energy, compared with 3.5% for other households. Energy reduction may be accomplished by providing measures such as increased insulation, repair of broken windows, repair of heating systems and air sealing throughout the home.
