AmeriCorps Advisory Committee

United Communities AmeriCorps, a program of the United Community Action Network, places national service members at non-profits, government agencies, schools, and faith-based organizations throughout the five counties of Southwest Oregon - Douglas, Josephine, Jackson, Coos, and Curry. Each of our positions promote equity, justice, and inclusion throughout our rural communities. By improving access to social services among our regions' highest need populations, our members bridge barriers to opportunities like mentoring, job skills training, employment resources, family support programs, nutrition education, and activities for healthy living. To do this, each of our members engage clients through programming that addresses their unique and individual needs. Our advisory committee provides guidance for improving our program's design upon annual review, as well as assisting in AmeriCorps project site selections each year.

Membership

To assure that AmeriCorps projects meet the needs of our communities, we need to have local representatives involved in our AmeriCorps project selection. Our Advisory Committee meets twice yearly to discuss AmeriCorps project progress and help guide the direction of our teams' endeavors. As an important community member, you are strategically placed to understand the complexity of our county and its unique needs. We hope you will represent your organization and community on our Advisory Committee.
